Vertical Tank Acceleration Results

Each Vertical Tank has a unique torque performance profile, which directly corresponds to its acceleration curve. The maximum speed per gear for each is displayed below. Tests were performed on normal flat, terrain (Mission 00) with override off (except where noted).

All speeds are in km/hour. Each VT "top speed" was taken with the accelerator pedal fully depressed.

This information is also available in a graphical format here.

Items of Note:
  • The majority of VTs have the same REVERSE speed as 2nd gear.
  • The Regal Dress A actually slows down when override is engaged.
  • The Behemoth is able to start in 4th gear on any terrain with no torque deficit effects.
  • An additional 2-3km/hr can be eeked out of each VT by very lightly letting up on the accelerator pedal. This behaviour is as yet unexplained.
  • The additional speed gained on PAVED surfaces is the VTs top speed + 10%
  • All VTs may start from a standstill in 4th gear with no torque deficit if on pavement.
