Vertical Tank Torque Performance on Adverse Terrain

The torque rating for Vertical Tanks has a direct effect on their performance on adverse terrain, particularly water crossings and climbing grades.

The models are listed top to bottom, from fastest to slowest with the maximum velocity (km/hr), gear setting, faction and generation class listed.

Generally, climbing inclines requires the same gear as that for water crossing, except in extreme grade situations.
The fastest method to climb hills/cross water involves the use of override and repeated melee weapon deployment. Unfortunately this has a serious impact on fuel consumption.

Using the data above, you can predict the ideal gear setting for adverse terrain and save time when encountering [it] during missions. Ideally a pilot should approach a water crossing (or hill climb) at maximum velocity in WHEEL mode and only downshift when torque falls out of optimal range. Subsequent downshifts prior to loss of "ideal" torque will preserve the maximum possible velocity for the given gear/terrain situation.
