TACTICAL SIGNIFIGANCE
After their crushing defeat at the hands of HSD 2nd generation sniper VTs at Ta Jong Fields, retreating PRF units pulled back into the abandoned San Kuchen Fortress to regroup and await reinforcements. Hai Shi Dao commanders decided to push their advantage and followed them into the underground laybrinth.
Although not strategically important, the San Kuchen marks one of the bloodiest and most intense battles yet seen in the war, one side fighting for their very survival and time for the arrival of reinforcements, the other fighting for revenge against the invaders of their homeland.
MISSION PROFILE
San Kuchen is the first of the underground fortress maps available in the game. The playable area of the map is extremely small when compared to "regular" open format missions, and this, coupled with the tight corridors, right angle turns and lack of light make this mission very disorienting. There are actually two levels available in the mission, accessed by ramps, and it is common to encounter enemy units above or below your current position. The continuous pavement of the level allows for 4th gear start even from a standstill.
The bilateral design of the mission ensures starting balance for both sides in a mission. With proper tactics and some luck in enemy encounters, a team may "lock off" one side of the map and hold it defensively.
Defender Objective: Eliminate attacking enemy VTs, deprive them of Sortie Points and capture bases.
Attacker Objective: Eliminate defending enemy VTs, deprive them of Sortie Points and capture bases.
Possible Non-VT Targets
