Professional Names
In addition to rank, a pilot profile is further identified by an assigned professional name which is derived from a number of different factors. Initially the professional name applied to a pilot profile is based off the given age during pilot creation.

The naming schema seems to correspond left-to-right with positive battle results. By this I mean that a strong winning series will tend to give a pilot a Professional name as delineated in the right-most columns of this chart, whereas a few losses or a median win/loss ratio will tend to give names in the middle or left-side.
Non-Fuselage Based Professional Names
Additional names which are not tied to a specific VT preference but to superior performance are as follows:
Name |
Description |
God of War |
Sometimes achieved before the General moniker, this professional name seems to be related to both a low number of VT losses and a high percentage of mission victories, essentially a combination of General and Immortal. |
General |
Achieving a win percentage of 85% - 90% or better over a period of one Turn. This information is sketchy, but seems to generally fit with observed in-game profiles. I have further been told the name comes when a 7 to 1 win/loss ratio is achieved, which at 87.5% is consistent with previous data. |
Immortal |
This name is not fully understood, but it seems to related to a low number of VT losses in battle over the period of 1 turn. Similar to the General professional name. |
Miscellaneous Professional Names
There are some professional names which defy any reasonable explanation...
Name |
Description |
Pulverizer |
I've only been able to generate this name in "setup" system link testing sessions. In order to achieve this name, the pilot must have 30+ VTs destroyed, 0 kills, 0 losses and 30+ victories. The likelyhood of having these statistics for a "real" pilot profile are very slim. |
Poor Battlefield Performance Professional Names
A series of names are reserved for poor performance on the battlefield:
Name |
Description |
Jackrabbit |
Increasingly bad performance from top to bottom.
There is also a theory that these names are indicative of "incorrect" playing styles, like having the majority of a players command points due to base captures, excessive usage of the dodge pedal, or falling over a great deal. |
Chick |
Tadpole |
Pest |
Jinx |
Professional Name Colour Modifiers
Finally, there are colour modifiers for each name based on the tripartite colour code combination that a player uses to decorate their VT. Some players claim that only the "shoulder" armour sections have to be coloured, others state that the entire VT must be a given shade. The game seems to require that a pilot play at least 10 consecutive matches with a given colour profile before awarding the colour modifier name. Additionally, to receive the name a player must also have already received (or be working towards) a Professional Name as defined in the VT category or exceptional piloting naming schemas. Ex. "Red Veteran" is not valid but "Red Dragon" or "Red Immortal" would be.
Name |

Raven |

Crimson |

Blue |

Azure |
60,100,100 |
Examples of compound Professional Names seen in the game:
Raven God of War
Crimson Samurai
Red God of Thunder
Red Dragon
Stark White Berserker
Based on the above, there are multiple possibilities for professional names which may be achieved. The colour modifiers are used in combination with an existing professional name only, they are not applied to the default Professional Names of Trainee, Rookie, Senior, or Veteran. I have also never seen them in combination with the poor performance Professional Names, but it may be possible.
Naming Schema Priority
Finally, the Professional Naming system prioritises fuselage/VT based naming over other naming schemas. Thus, a pilot who qualifies for the Immortal or General professional name but used a specific VT class to achieve the required statistics would still retain their VT based Professional name.
