TACTICAL SIGNIFIGANCE
After the intense fighting in the Yu Jai Woodlands, surviving Right Brothers divisions regrouped at the nearby village of the same name and prepared to make a strategic retreat back to the rugged highlands of their separatist state. Hai Shi Dao units in the area could not pass up the opportunity to strike at a weakened target, and pursued the RB survivors into the valley encampment.

All the while, Pacific Rim Forces covert teams were performing hit and run attacks to try and lure elements from both forces out onto the northern Yu Jai plain where PRF VTs would have the advantage of speed and direct fire weaponry.

MISSION PROFILE
Yu Jai Village is situated in a natural depression below an imposing and inaccessible plateau and ridgeline to the north. The village has numerous destructible buildings, none of which will gain points if destroyed. The primary defense objective is the base located in the D-3 sector, if captured will debit 150 points from the defense Sortie Point total. It may be recaptured by the defending team to reinstate the points to their Sortie Point total, at the same time debiting that amount from the attacking team.

The tree lined ridge to the north of the village valley is ideal for hiding defender VTs and staging sniper or artillery attacks on attacker VTs within the city boundaries. Attackers must start at the far north fringes of the map, but paved roads allow quick access to the defense objective area. The plateau which dominates the majority of the C-2 and D-2 area is inaccessible to VTs. The ridgeline that runs along the E- corridor is elevated above the road level and can be useful for either defender or attacker teams to avoid visual detection via reticule sweeping.

In a 3v3 player scenario, defending sides may have a difficult time covering all possible attacker approaches. The high sortie cost of the objective base (150pts) combined with the loss of one or more VTs for the defending side can spell defeat very quickly. That said, this mission can still be played on defense with some success if coordinated tactics and keen surveillance are used.
