TACTICAL SIGNIFIGANCE
The initial PRF invasion of the south-east HSD provinces was rapid and merciless, resulting in several surviving HSD stragglers being cut off from their main force. The 95th Artillery Support platoon "Mountain Ravens" was the primary surviving unit, and it along with a number of HSD remnant forces pulled back into the Yun Kota Gorge area, an extremely rugged stretch of canyons and streams. The terrain allowed the HSD survivors to use their superior torque and artillery abilities to repel PRF attackers and even perform probing guerilla attacks against nearby PRF encampments.
MISSION PROFILE
Yun Kota Gorge is composed of mountainous terrain, surrounded and crossed by shallow water streams. The central island is raised in elevation and can only be accessed via sloped areas to the north and south. Similar slopes allow access to the surrounding ridges. The neutral base in D-1 is the exception and is at water level. The central island mount features two opposing cliff vantage points which can be accessed via a steep climb.
The numerous water crossings and rugged terrain make high-torque capable VTs the advised choices for deployment. Support artillery tactics are very effective, as are sniper rifles.
