TACTICAL SIGNIFIGANCE
A proud and simple people, the northern inhabitants of Hai Shi Dao island had become the focal point of blame after the loss of the first Hai Shi Dao conflict in 2080, often accused of being conspirators to the Pacific Rim Forces during the first war. Even prior to the wars, the northerners had longed for separation from the Hai Shi Dao government. With the start of the 2084 invasion, an upstart band of rebels calling themselves the "Right Brothers" declared their independence with a surprise attack against the HSD reserve base at Com D'Ang. Taking the base would allow the Right Brothers to establish a defensive line of control for their mountain stronghold. This action did not go unnoticed by Pacific Rim Forces command, and a strike team was sent in to try and usurp control during the chaotic battle. Dominance of the mountain pass will determine the battle fronts of the now three-sided conflict.

MISSION PROFILE
Though not quite as one-sided as the Hong Shan Military Base mission, Reserve Base Siege is still a difficult mission to play as defender on. The primary terrain of the mission consists of four steep hill canyon approaches leading towards a central base and defense objective building structure. Attackers start at either the far north-west or south-east corners of the map, with defenders having opposing base options to choose from, as well as the main defense objective base. The approaches to the defense objective base are very steep and narrow, allow defenders to create bottlenecks and artillery traps to contain attacking forces.

The defense objective buildings are the same as those in Mission 06, but in a different arrangement. See the schematic below for a points reference and location.

Defender Objective: Eliminate attacking enemy VTs, deprive them of Sortie Points and prevent the destruction of the objective buildings.

Attacker Objective: Eliminate defending enemy VTs, deprive them of Sortie Points and capture bases, destroy the defensive objective buildings.

Possible Non-VT Targets

Much like Mission 06, this mission is difficult to play as defender on due to player number limitations and the heavy strategic cost the loss of the objective buildings results in.
