TACTICAL SIGNIFIGANCE
Despite the loss of most of the south eastern provinces to the invading Pacific Rim Forces, the combined units of the 61st "Lancers" and 72nd "Fire Devils" HSD battalions had been able to hold the city of Jian Da against numerous PRF divisions which had laid siege for several weeks. The defenders had been buying time for the repair of the battleship Zhen Yahn which had been damaged during the initial PRF amphibious attack. If the defense could be maintained, the Zhan Yahn would be made battleworthy and potentially cut off the sea supply lines of the PRF, leaving them stranded with no reinforcements. PRF commanders recognised the threat that the battleship would pose if redeployed against their supply lines and detached additional VT units to try and break the stalemate at Jian Da.
MISSION PROFILE
Jian Da Harbour takes place on a large dock structure with continuous pavement on all ground surfaces. This allows for 4th gear start even from a standstill for all VTs. There is high-tensile netting between several of the dock sections which can only be crossed by Light class VTs, all others will fall through into the water and be lost.
The main objective on this mission is the destruction of the Battleship Zheng Yahn, located in the top east corner of the map. The battleship is extraordinarily durable (sustaining 30,001 damage points before exploding) but it will not return fire on attacking units. There are also random Missile Boats moving through the surrounding harbour which can be destroyed by either side to add Sortie Points to their total.
The buildings on this mission may not be destroyed, with the exception of the fuel tank structures, which are highly flammable and will set nearby VTs on fire if destroyed.
Defender Objective: Eliminate attacking enemy VTs, deprive them of Sortie Points and capture bases, prevention of battleship destruction.
Attacker Objective: Eliminate defending enemy VTs, destruction of the battleship Zheng Yahn.
